Nissan 700,000 Altima and Sentra Cars Being Recalled

Nissan is recalling nearly 700,000 Altima and Sentra passenger cars to fix problems with a sensor that could lead to engine stalling.

A spokesperson for the Nissan Motor Company says there have been no reports of crashes or injuries tied to the issue.
However, the problem could cause the engine to stop running with no warning while the car is being driven at low speeds.

The company says owners should take their cars to dealers to reprogram the electronic control module.

More than 650,000 of the recalled vehicles are in the United States, with the remainder in Mexico and Canada.

The Japanese car maker says the recall affects Altima and Sentra cars from the 2002 and the 2005 to 2006 model years.
