Middle East International Motor Show: Hakkinen SLR 722 GT

2007 Dubai Motor Show: Double Formula One World Champion Mika Hakkinen unveiled the Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 GT at Mercedes stand during the 9th Middle East International Motor Show.

The SLR 722 GT features a supercharged Mercedes-Benz AMG 5.5-litre V8-engine uprated to develop a peak output of 680 bhp and a maximum torque of 830 Nm.

This limited edition racer tips the scales at 1390 kilograms and has an exemplary power to weight ratio of 2.0 kg/bhp.

The super car is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100km/h in under 3.3 seconds to reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

The racecar, designed for the track and not for the road, was developed by British motor racing specialists RML Group (Ray Mallock Ltd) following requests by motor sport enthusiasts within the SLR Club.

Just 21 will be built and they will take part in the SLR Club Trophy – a competition series forming part of the Mercedes-Benz SLR Club racetrack programe in Europe.
