2007 Dubai Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Debut

2007 Dubai Motor Show – Mercedes-Benz unveiled their new AMG-tuned C-Class at the 9th Middle East International Motor Show today. Being a press-only day, the German manufacturer took the cover off only the C 63 AMG with the much-awaited Mercedes SLR 722 GT destined for tomorrow.

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is actually the road-going version of the acclaimed C63 AMG used in the DTM series.

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will be available in saloon as well as estate (station wagon) variants and features an AMG tuned 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine putting out a whopping 457bhp and a maximum torque of 600Nm.

The car is capable of doing 0-100kmph in less than 4.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 kmph before the electronics step in to limit.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-tronic gearbox that features three drive programs – from being seriously sporty to comfort. For those who aspire for F1 style driver ergonomics, the C63 AMG features paddle shifters.

Also on the stand were Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series that has been derived from the official F1 safety car, the SLR McLaren Roadster that is making its Middle East debut as well as the usual three-pointed star line-up.
